There’s something captivating about the creative process—the journey from an idea sparked deep in your soul to a finished piece of art that tells a story. Today, I want to invite you behind the scenes of my latest painting, Freedom Air, which is currently in its composition phase.

This piece has been inspired by a profound concept: the freedom we experience when we completely trust in God as our Ultimate Provider. It’s the kind of freedom that allows us to breathe deeply, unburdened by fear, worry, or lack. For me, it’s like inhaling the pure, crisp air of a winter mountaintop—a feeling of being alive, renewed, and fully at peace.

The Early Stages: Sketching the Vision

At this moment, Freedom Air exists as a series of sketches, where I’m refining the composition and storytelling elements. The central figure is a woman with her arms stretched wide, her face lifted as she takes in a deep breath of cool mountain air. Her hand, closest to the viewer, holds seeds that both pour into her hand from above and fall from her open palm. These seeds symbolize the endless provision we receive when we trust God completely.

The seeds falling from her hand speak of her generous heart to those around her, since she has no fear of lack. She knows the Source of her provision is infinite, and as she shares freely, she reflects the abundance of Heaven’s freedom air—a life marked by trust, peace, and generosity.

In the background, majestic snow-covered mountains stand as a reminder of God’s grandeur and the steadfastness of His promises. Every detail in this composition is being carefully considered to communicate the essence of what it means to breathe Heaven’s freedom air—a life unshackled by worry, and instead fueled by faith and filled with peace.

This painting is part of my On Earth as it is in Heaven collection. It reflects the calling we have as believers in Jeshua to bring Heaven to Earth. As citizens of Heaven, it is expected of us to breathe Heaven’s freedom air. This is the same air that those already in Heaven breathe—air that’s free from worry or lack, filled only with perfect peace and provision.

Breathing Heaven’s Freedom Air

Freedom Air is also deeply personal. It represents moments in my own life when I experienced the tangible peace of God. One memory that stands out is during the demanding period of my master’s thesis. With deadlines looming, ideas flooding my mind, and warnings from my thesis chair that I was on the road to failure, the pressure was immense. Yet, even in that chaos, I could fall asleep easily, knowing I was fully provided for and on the path God wanted me to be on.

I remember the extraordinary peace being like falling backward, knowing He would catch me. That assurance allowed me to rest—not just physically, but spiritually—because I trusted that God was with me and taking care of everything. That feeling of trust, of being perfectly loved and provided for, is the heart of this painting.

We were meant to breathe the fresh air of Heaven—not just in eternity but here and now. When we fully trust in our Heavenly Father, we experience the same freedom that exists perpetually in Heaven. That trust becomes a connection with those who are already there - like my sister Tracie - reminding us that Heaven is not distant; it is near.

This freedom allows us to live generously and joyfully right now, knowing we are perfectly cared for and will always have enough. It’s a freedom that frees us from fear and inspires us to bring Heaven to Earth through our lives, our choices, and our faith. As the woman in Freedom Air gives freely from her abundance, so we are called to live open-handed, trusting that there will always be more to give because the Source is limitless.

It’s a freedom that enables us to declare the prayer, “Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

What’s Next

This is just the beginning of the journey for Freedom Air. As the composition develops, I’ll share updates, sketches, and insights into the creative process. Once the final piece is complete, it will be available for viewing both on my website and here in this blog.

I’m excited to see how this piece evolves, and I hope its message will resonate with you. Until then, I encourage you to reflect: What does it mean to you to breathe Heaven’s freedom air?

Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to share your thoughts as this piece comes to life. Your feedback and reflections are always an inspiration to me!
