What we see every day can become more influential than we realize. A painting in my birds’ room unexpectedly reminded me how the things we keep around us can shape our thoughts, inspire hope, and help us remember what matters.
Caring for my lovebird, Chewy-TooToo, led me into a long process of learning what true care sometimes requires. When repeated injury prevented healing, I had to introduce restraint in the form of a protective collar. What followed was a slow, ongoing process of recovery, observation, and adjustment—revealing how boundaries can sometimes create the very conditions needed for healing to begin and continue.
